The first historical records of Château Plain Point date back to the year 1480. Embark on a journey through several centuries of history.
In 2023, Château Plain Point entered a new era with the construction of a custom-designed winery to showcase the terroir.
It is the alchemy between its landscapes, its mosaic of soils, its oceanic climate, and its location at the confluence of two major rivers that creates the unique soul of Château Plain Point wines.
At Château Plain Point, we work like the greatest artisans to delicately and precisely reveal the nuances and subtleties of our terroir.
Since the end of October, the sheep have been roaming the vineyard rows, enjoying the vast expanse of grass provided for them. Our vineyard is making them happy, and they are returning the favor!
These little natural workers bring a multitude of benefits that contribute to the Château Plain Point vineyard in a more environmentally respectful approach.
By grazing on the grass and weeds, they play a key role in maintaining clean and healthy soil, while limiting the use of chemical herbicides. This ecological approach helps obtain vines that breathe better and grapes of optimal quality.
But their impact doesn't stop there. Their droppings, rich in nutrients, serve as a natural fertilizer, contributing to nourishing our soils organically.
Sheep grazing also helps reduce soil erosion by stabilizing its structure. They act as a natural regulator of moisture, reducing competition between the vines and the grass, thus allowing water to penetrate the soil better, creating a true water reserve.
This management method for our vines is resolutely sustainable. By reducing our dependence on chemical treatments and mechanization, we are contributing to the preservation of our environment and the improvement of our grapes' quality. The sheep, in addition to being allies in managing our vineyard, remind us every day that sustainable farming is a promising path for the future of Château Plain Point.
