The first historical records of Château Plain Point date back to the year 1480. Embark on a journey through several centuries of history.
In 2023, Château Plain Point entered a new era with the construction of a custom-designed winery to showcase the terroir.
It is the alchemy between its landscapes, its mosaic of soils, its oceanic climate, and its location at the confluence of two major rivers that creates the unique soul of Château Plain Point wines.
At Château Plain Point, we work like the greatest artisans to delicately and precisely reveal the nuances and subtleties of our terroir.
"The heart of winemaking."
Built into the natural slope of the hillside, the gravity-flow winery at Plain Point embodies a gentle and respectful approach to winemaking. Here, the grapes move without the use of pumps, carried simply by gravity to preserve the integrity of the berries and the finesse of the juice.
This elegant building, designed by architect Olivier Chadebost, houses a variety of tanks—87 in total: concrete, wood, and stainless steel—allowing for parcel-by-parcel winemaking. Each tank tells the story of a vineyard plot, and each wine is born from the attentive listening to the terroir. This elegant building, designed by architect Olivier Chadebost, houses a variety of tanks—87 in total: concrete, wood, and stainless steel—allowing for parcel-by-parcel winemaking. Half-buried in the hillside, the winery benefits from natural coolness ideal for aging. It is a quiet, precise place where tradition and innovation work together in the creation of the estate’s great wines.
