“ Mr. Shi Yuzhu's arrival at the helm of the property marks a turning point in the history of Château Plain Point, initiating a new chapter : one of Excellence and Precision. „
Château Plain Point is undertaking a comprehensive restructuring of its vineyard, aiming to enhance the quality of its wines. As such, 4 hectares of vineyards are uprooted and replanted each year with grape varieties and rootstocks better suited to the terroir.
Château Plain Point has also expanded its estate, which now encompasses 100 hectares of vineyards, forests, ponds, and natural spaces.
After a decade of investments dedicated to the vineyard, Château Plain Point marks a significant turning point in its history in 2023 with the construction of a new winery. This state-of-the-art winery is equipped with the latest technologies, allowing for the vinification of these exceptional grapes with unparalleled precision.
In 2023, Château Plain Point enters a new era with the vinification of the first vintage made in the new bespoke cellar designed by architect Olivier Chadebost.
Located on a hillside, the cellar benefits from a 15-meter slope that promotes an optimal gravity-flow process. The harvest begins its journey on the ground floor, then gradually descends to lower levels as the vinification progresses, finally reaching level -4, where the final aging takes place.
It is here that Château Plain Point wines develop their unique personality, which is nothing other than the faithful reflection of this unique place.
Three of the four building facades are partially underground, thus benefiting from the natural freshness of the soil where the temperature stands at 15°C, ideal for ageing wine. An impressive 10-metre-wide staircase providing access to all levels creates a “chimney” effect, distributing cool air evenly throughout the building.
The new visual identity of Château Plain Point draws its foundations from the roots of the past.
The emblem takes inspiration from the historical symbol of the property, discovered engraved in the stone of the château. Its waves pay tribute to the distinctive reliefs of the vineyard and the proximity of the Isle and Dordogne rivers, which give the vines of Château Plain Point an exceptional microclimate. The terracotta red hue and the stretched "T" of our logo pay homage to labels from the 20th century.
